Altruism Festival

The 2013 Altruism Festival is Sunday, May 5th at 6:00 pm, at the side gardens of the Marriott Casa Magna in Marina Vallarta. The Altruism Festival is the largest fundraising event in Vallarta, and is now is in its 9^th year. Approximately 1200 people have attended in the past. All proceeds are pooled and the money is shared equally between 24 charities selected by lottery. Almost 50 restaurants participate, donating their food and time, which makes this such a popular gourmet ‘tasting’ event. Live music, dance, and sometimes fireworks make the evening special.

It’s quite an event! It's your chance to help others while having fun - how easy is that?

The second annual VYC Shoe & Clothing Drive to benefit local charitable organizations is May 15-22. It's Spring Cleaning for a cause ... we're collecting shoes and clothing to support Families at the Dump, a local charitable organization that supports families who work at and near the Vallarta Dump. One of the most disadvantaged groups in the area, these items can make a big difference in their lives. What an easy way to help others!

Cooking Class for Charity

Abuelitas de Tercera Edad and the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center - next cooking class! 26 June. Only $50 pesos per person.

Following the sell out and huge success of the recent joint event held at the BBCC kitchen, you are invited to attend the Chicken Mole cooking demo and tasting on Wednesday 26th June at 2:00 pm.

There are a limited number of places so please book ahead by:
a) Calling the BBCC and getting your $50 pesos ticket any time between 10 am and 3 pm Mon-Fri. or b) Call Marilyn on 322 100-7544 or Allison on 322 102-0382, or email the BBCC.
Since it is getting very warm they will have lots of fans for this class!
The $50 pesos includes demo/instruction, a list of the ingredients used in the class and a sample tasting. Wine, beer and water will be sold at the bar. The net profits from this will then be shared between Terecera Edad and the BBCC.
Just to remind you, they are at Calle 16 de Septiembre on the East side of the highway just 2 blocks up Matamoros (the Ice House street).
