FMV Cup: Radial Masters World Championship

This week will present the Laser Radial Masters event. These competitors are "Masters" who have been racing Lasers all over the world for years. The ages in this event are 35-80! This is the largest of the 4 events with 139 competitors from 19 Countries. Registration and Measurement take place on April 22nd & 23rd with the Opening Ceremony at 6pm on April 23 at the Amphitheater at Paradise Village. Racing is April 24th through April 30th. There will be an awards ceremony at the ampitheater at 6pm. Both the opening and awards ceremony are open to all.

International Altruism Festival

Come and join us in a very tasty and pleasant way to help our community! This is an extraordinary gastronomic festival featuring food from some of the best restaurants of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. All this accompanied by music, dancing and entertainment by talented local musicians. Twenty local charitable organizations will have booths where you can find out what they do and how you can help them. Tickets are $400 pesos per person advance purchases, or $500 pesos at the door. Amigos de La Cruz (322-292-1107), Asoc. BdeB Cultural (322-103-5156), and Paraiso Felino (322-102-4092) are the charities in Nayarit. Call them to order your tickets in advance.

Your donation covers food, drinks, entertainment, and information about the charities. 100% of the monies collected from tickets and raffles will be distributed equally among the 20 charities in attendance.

FMV Cup: Standard Men's World Championship

This week begins with Registration and Measurement for the Laser Men's Standard Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday. This event again, will have Olympic Class athletes, with sights set on the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer. There are 115 competitors from 42 countries. Among the entries are 12 Mexican Sailors including Yanic Gentry, member of Vallarta Yacht Club. And yes, that is Yanic in this picture at a previous championship.

Registration is May 10 and 11. There is an opening ceremony on May 11 at 6pm in the Ampitheater at Paradise Village, and an awards ceremony at the Yacht Club on May 18.

Racing starts May 12 and wraps up May 18.

FMV Cup: Laser Standard Masters World Championship

The final event in the series of Laser World championships 2016 in under way and the Laser Masters Standard competitors are enjoying Banderas Bay!

Registration and measurement are May 20 and May21.There is an opening ceremony on May 21 at 6pm at the Ampitheater, which is open to all.

Racing is May 22 through May 28. There is an award ceremony at the Paradise Village Amphitheater at 6pm, open to all.

Women Who Sail

womenwhosail This October Women Who Sail is having a reunion meeting at the pool at La Cruz Inn that will include all the original speakers from the very first meet up there in February 2014. Women Who Sail was founded in 2011 by Charlotte Kaufman of the ill-fated vessel Rebel Heart. S/V Rebel Heart was scuttled at sea after their young daughter became ill and had to be rescued during the family's Pacific Crossing.

Women Who Sail is a not for profit organization with over 9,000 members worldwide. All women on boats (both sail and power) are invited to attend the free meet up on Saturday, October 22nd from 2:00-5:00 at the pool at La Cruz Inn. There will be free wine until it runs out (courtesy of Katrina Liana), a cash bar, taco stand, and many fabulous door prizes. Speakers include Charlotte Kaufman, Michelle Williams, Eugenie Russell, Tamiko Willie, Pat Henry, Judy Jensen, and Katrina Liana. See you there, ladies!
