FMV Cup: Women's Laser Radial World Championship

This is the first of four World Championships.We willl see the Laser Women's Radial Championships begin with 73 competitors from 33 countries. These athletes are Olympic Class athletes, many with plans on competiting in Rio de Janiero during the 2016 Olympic Games. Registration and Measurement will take place on April 12 & 13 with the Opening Ceremony on April 13 at the Amphitheatre. Races start on April 14 and continue until Saturday, April 20, with the Awards Ceremony at the Amphitheater at Paradise Village. We can still use a few volunteers for the event. Don't be left out. Practice Race April 13.

FMV Cup: Radial Masters World Championship

This week will present the Laser Radial Masters event. These competitors are "Masters" who have been racing Lasers all over the world for years. The ages in this event are 35-80! This is the largest of the 4 events with 139 competitors from 19 Countries. Registration and Measurement take place on April 22nd & 23rd with the Opening Ceremony at 6pm on April 23 at the Amphitheater at Paradise Village. Racing is April 24th through April 30th. There will be an awards ceremony at the ampitheater at 6pm. Both the opening and awards ceremony are open to all.

FMV Cup: Standard Men's World Championship

This week begins with Registration and Measurement for the Laser Men's Standard Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday. This event again, will have Olympic Class athletes, with sights set on the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer. There are 115 competitors from 42 countries. Among the entries are 12 Mexican Sailors including Yanic Gentry, member of Vallarta Yacht Club. And yes, that is Yanic in this picture at a previous championship.

Registration is May 10 and 11. There is an opening ceremony on May 11 at 6pm in the Ampitheater at Paradise Village, and an awards ceremony at the Yacht Club on May 18.

Racing starts May 12 and wraps up May 18.
